Randi Madisen takes Role as OER Librarian for Minnesota State
Randi Madisen is the new half-time OER Librarian for Minnesota State. She has been a librarian at Century College for the past 15 years. She has become increasingly involved with OER and Z-Degree efforts, completing both the Creative Commons and OER Librarian certificates. In previous incarnations, she worked at the Minnesota State Law Library and the Legislative Reference Library. Her MLIS is from the University of Michigan, and her claim to fame is that she has lived in four states and visited 45 of the rest.
Randi’s work over the next two years will include supporting the Minnesota State libraries in their OER work by identifying OER contacts for each library and developing an action plan to build community for library faculty and staff, based on feedback from the OER contacts. Randi is also taking the lead on planning the annual OER Librarian Workdays, to be held:
- Virtually on September 29 for all MnPALS libraries
- In-person on September 30 for Minnesota State libraries
If you have questions or ideas for our OER initiatives, please email Randi at randi.madisen@century.edu.
